    well in this case it isnt much of a direct reference, in most forums ppl casually refer to other ppl as their real name its just we dont want it used as much here cuz we might get stalked *cough *cough

    he said "i wanna deal with the music with my buddy bob"

    opposed to "i wanna deal with the music with bob"

    and we plan to make this how. Considering i do a fair bit of modding i know how hard codes are and if you try to make a game useing a code sort of format instead of a fps game maker, its extremely hard. Useing a fps maker is easy but makes shit games. Not saying is isnt possible but its not easy

    Like I said, its and ongoing project, you guys are here to suggest ideas and stuff, then me and a couple of other friends will make it. We will continually modify and make it better. it'll probably be release in 2012, or if we're really dedicated, next year. Also, don't forget how old we are, we're still in school and still amateurs, so it just isn't possible for us to make a full awesome game. but if it does turn out good...then i'll be satisfied. but it most likely won't. Also, saying that we can't do it, motivates us more to prove you wrong.

    A quick overview of wat we need to make a good fps FROM SCRATCH.

    Director- someone to keep track of things
    Producer- we need the tools and money someones gotta deal with that
    Character Modeler- someone who can design 3d characters and make them
    Modeler- someone to create building etc etc
    Building designer- a person who draws out the architecture of the buildings
    Costume designer- someone who can create what the character wear on
    Level Designer- a smart sly person who can create puzzling yet fun levels
    Weapons designer- we need someone to design/model the weapons
    Storywriter- of course a story
    Manager- who will keep track of a general overview of everything?
    Artist- we need to draw out our ideas, render them etc
    Musicians- wats a good game without good music?
    Testers- someone to give us some critique and test out the game
    Promoters- whos gonna play it without them?
    Support- People who can help us along the way
    Programmers- AND OF COURSE these people who put the game together

    thats all i can think of on the top of my head, there is definitely way more

    OMG you dont seem to get it. Makeing a game isnt simple, you can go out and use a fps maker. What you get is what you pay for and its generally free so that says words. The problem of experince also comes into play. Y dont you start of with a mod for a game which takes considerably less time and see how you go. I dont think you relise what your getting your self into. U need heaps of people to accomplish what toast has placed on the table which could be shorten to like 6 people which take on few more jobs. I ask you to truely think where you plan to go with this, a flash game or a full dlc game which would cost something to make

    well if ur tryin ter make a kind of flash game ur better off keeping it simple; very easy to grasp gameplay mechanics, not a difficult learning curve and easy to grasp story. environments can be linear and small, as this is usually expected by flash games and its harder to make big environments just using flash.
    flash game= usually cheap all you need to know about is working with flash.

    on the other hand, a full-on,complex game is much more costlier and takes much harder work, a team of many dedicated people and some serious brains. gameplay should have an easy learning curve, progressive story and huge stages with great char models.

As you now know the reason why I started this project, can you just stfu. sorry for the inappropriate language, but it truly is annoying. I'm doing this for the experience, not to market or whatever. If you don't think we can make it, then just leave this topic, cos right now I'm not in the mood.

    Also, stop going off-topic, THIS IS AN IDEAS THREAD, and also who said we're gunna make it now, right now we're just learning, we might not make it until, like 2013, or whatever. It might be hard to make it now, but by the time we make the game, that'll be when we're ready.

    Also, we'll release a beta next year, hopefully, just to show you the progress, which might be none =)
